- CNG version expected to be offered as dealer-level retrofitments
- Likely to be limited to manual transmission
The Skoda Kylaq has emerged as one of the brand’s strongest volume drivers in recent times, consistently contributing healthy monthly sales. Capitalising on this momentum, Skoda is now understood to be evaluating a CNG-powered version of the compact SUV to further broaden its appeal.
Currently, the Kylaq is offered exclusively with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. According to sources, the same TSI motor is being tested with a CNG setup. Similar to the approach adopted by other manufacturers, Skoda could opt for a company-approved retrofit solution, which would be backed by warranty, in addition to the standard vehicle coverage.

As is typical with CNG conversions, the power output is expected to be lower than the existing 114bhp figure. The CNG variant is also likely to be offered only with a manual gearbox, keeping costs and complexity in check.
In the meantime, Skoda has been actively expanding the Kylaq range. The compact SUV recently received new Classic+ and Prestige+ variants, both available with manual and automatic transmissions. Additionally, a new Sportline variant is also in the pipeline, with a launch expected by Q3 CY 2026.

It is also worth noting that Skoda revised the prices of the Kylaq earlier this month. The compact SUV witnessed a hike of up to Rs. 15,000, depending on the variant, with the revised prices effective from January 2026.
