Renault India recently launched the much-awaited Triber facelift in the country, with prices starting at Rs. 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The value-for-money people mover remains affordable despite the update, continuing to offer a well-balanced proposition for budget-conscious buyers.
That said, there are a few features the updated Triber continues to miss out on, features that have become quite common in the segment and price range today.
Alloy Wheels
The Renault Triber still rides on 15-inch flex wheels, similar to those on the previous version. While they do look stylish, alloy wheels, at least on the top-spec variants, would have added more appeal. However, Renault has skipped them even with this facelift.
Ventilated Seats
Ventilated front seats remain absent, not just on the Triber but across Renault’s entire India lineup. While not critical, this feature has become increasingly popular in recent years, and its inclusion would have boosted cabin comfort in hot weather.
Captain Seats
The Triber is known for its space and modularity. Introducing a six-seat layout with captain seats in the second row would have further enhanced comfort for families preferring individual chairs over a bench setup. Unfortunately, this update does not bring that option.
Bigger Infotainment and Branded Music System
The facelifted Triber retains the same eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system as before. While functional, a larger screen paired with a branded audio setup would have significantly improved the in-cabin entertainment experience.
Turbo-petrol Engine
Mechanically, the Triber facelift continues with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. Despite expectations, Renault has not introduced the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit from the Kiger. As a result, performance remains unchanged, which may disappoint buyers looking for a bit more punch.
