- Expected to launch by end of FY2026
- 1.0 NA Petrol with MT and AMT
A Renault Triber-based Nissan B-MPV will be officially unveiled tomorrow. As was the case with the Tekton, we expect Nissan to reveal design sketches for the vehicle before a full launch towards the end of this financial year.
The vehicle sports the same silhouette as the Triber, but with a different face, wheels, and light package. It is expected to have the same dimensions, feature list, and three rows of seating like the Triber. The MPV is also expected to make use of the same 1.0-litre NA petrol, producing 71bhp and 96Nm with the option of a five-speed MT or a five-speed AMT system. It is also expected to be offered with a company-approved, dealer-level CNG retrofitment.
Since letting go of the Datsun brand a few years ago, Nissan has only had the Magnite as its anchor in not just the sub-Rs. 10 lakh segment, but also the market as a whole. This second model should expand Nissan's appeal while cashing in on the benefits that the recently updated Triber MPV has brought to the table.
This B-MPV is part of Nissan's bigger plans for India, where it will launch the Tekton, three-row SUV positioned above the Tekton, this B-MPV, and an electric vehicle – all set to go official in the next two years.
