- Bookings expected to open from 24 August
- No mechanical changes
The Renault Kiger facelift will be launched in India tomorrow. This is the most major update for the French sub-compact SUV and sees it follow in the footsteps of a facelift for the Triber that was launched in India on 23 July.
Design highlights
The updated Kiger is expected to get a new face, wheels, and design for the tail lamps on the outside. It is also expected to get a new colour palette, including a new yellow that's the colour of their promotional material for the car. The inside is expected to continue with its all-black colour scheme but will get an upgraded feature list quite similar to what is being offered on the Triber.
Powertrain options
There are expected to be no mechanical changes, and the car will continue with its two 1.0-litre petrol engines. The first is an NA petrol producing 71bhp and 91Nm and can be had with either a five-speed MT or a five-speed AMT. The higher-spec variants also get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol that produces 99bhp and 152Nm and can be had with either a five-speed MT or a CVT. Renault is also offering a CNG option that can be fitted to the car as a company-certified dealer fitment.
Pricing and competition
It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.20 lakh to Rs. 11.50 lakh (average ex-showroom) and will take on cars like the Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, and the Toyota Taisor.
