Introduction
If you have been following our coverage of the Renault Duster over the last few months, you would have seen the top-spec models in all our visuals and stories. It is a fully loaded Iconic Launch Edition and it tops out at Rs. 22 lakh! But, what if your budget comes in a bit lower but still high enough to get a decent feature list? Well, there is a Duster variant and it is called Techno.
Priced in the range of Rs. 15.93 lakh to Rs. 18.85 lakh, this Techno variant is a mid-spec variant and is surprisingly good value for money if you are looking at the Duster. How does it achieve that? Well, that's what we are going to answer in this story by telling you design highlights, feature list, and of course powertrains too!

All Powertrains and Colours Available
One of the big highlights of this variant in the Duster hierarchy is that you get all the powertrain options available for the SUV. It is likely that when the French automaker launches the hybrid variants, this will be the entry point for the 1.8-litre engine.
- 1.0-litre Turbo Petrol: 99bhp/166Nm – Six-speed manual
- 1.3-litre Turbo Petrol: 160bhp/280Nm – Six-speed MT/DCT – Mileage MT – 17.75kmpl, AT – 18.45kmpl
In addition to all the powertrains, you also get all the colour options available with the Duster, which in this case are six single-tone and four dual-tone colour options.
Exterior Highlights
Some of the major exterior highlights of this Duster Techno variant are as follows:
- LED light package
- Body-coloured door handles
- 17-inch alloy wheels
- Black roof rails
- Roof spoiler
- Rear wiper

Interior and Feature Highlights
As a mid-spec variant, the Duster has a surprising number of features on offer and here is a complete list:
- Dual-tone upholstery
- Dual-zone climate control
- 7.0-inch display for instrument cluster
- Wireless charger
- Panoramic sunroof
- Arkamys sound system
- Quad USB-C charging ports
If you go for the DCT variants, then you get an electric parking brake, e-shifter, and cooled centre storage.

Safety Across the Table
All variants of the Duster get six airbags as standard and in addition, this variant gets TPMS, TC, adjustable headrests, and auto headlamps. However, missing from its feature list is ADAS, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera package. These are features only available in the top-spec Iconic variant.

Value for Money
This variant for the price that Renault is demanding is good value for money as it offers all the powertrain and colour options and has enough visual highlights to ensure the Duster doesn't look basic. It is also likely that this will be the entry point for the hybrid powertrain when it is launched in the festival season.
