- Mild-hybrid likely to come to India
- Expected to be positioned in the Rs. 10-16 lakh bracket
The Renault Duster is set for a comeback in India. Scheduled for a 26 January, 2026 unveil, a completely wrapped test mule was spotted on the road.
Thanks to the Euro-spec Dacia Duster and the India-spec Nissan Tekton, we know what the upcoming Renault Duster would look like. The front consists of Y-shaped DRLs, thick black wheel arch claddings, boomerang-shaped tail lights, black side sill garnish, and thick side claddings.
The Duster’s cabin gets two screens, three-spoke steering, drive selector, and Y-shaped accents for the AC vents. Visually, it isn’t as upmarket as what the competition offers, but having no sunroof is a breath of fresh air for the ones who seek a no-nonsense offering – and the general consensus is – it only makes sense to not include one from a durability standpoint.

Mechanically, the Euro-spec Renault (Dacia) Duster gets three configurations – Hybrid 140 (138bhp), Mild-Hybrid 130 (128.2bhp), and Mild-Hybrid 130 4x4. The India-spec SUV is likely to get the Mild-Hybrid 130 configuration.

Known for its minimal yet functional design, rugged driving dynamics, and durability, the Duster’s original iteration took no time to succeed in the Indian market. The SUV is set to return after a hiatus, and the anticipation is high, rightfully so. With its current lineup and price positioning, Renault seems to be moving in the right direction. The upcoming Duster, likewise, will mostly compete in the Rs. 10-16 lakh bracket.
