- To sit below the Duster in the lineup
- Expected to rival the Maruti Jimny and the Mahindra Thar
Renault recently surprised everyone with a teaser of its upcoming Bridger concept. Now, while the Indian audience eagerly awaits the price announcement of the new Duster on 17 March, the French carmaker is set to take the global stage tomorrow to unveil the Bridger concept.

The automaker has confirmed that the Bridger will be a sub-compact SUV, positioned below the Duster in Renault’s portfolio. Notably, this new SUV has been designed in India, and will also be manufactured here. Based on the design showcased, it appears to be positioned as a rival to the Maruti Jimny and the Mahindra Thar.
While several rumours regarding the powertrain and specifications are circulating online, what is known so far, is that the concept will measure under four metres in length, and feature a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Additionally, the teaser reveals a glimpse of the front design, which includes bold illuminated Renault lettering placed on a flat, blanked-off grille. This design element hints at the possibility of the concept previewing an EV.
That said, Renault could follow Tata Motors’ strategy, and introduce the Bridger in both ICE and EV forms to cater to a wider set of buyers. More details will emerge during its global unveil tomorrow.
