- Slightly changed visual elements
- Could be showcased as a halo here
While we remember the Nissan Terrano as the Nissan version of the Gen-1 Renault Duster, the nameplate has been re-incarnated as a boxy plug-in hybrid SUV. Previewed at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, it has been developed in and for China, as well as ASEAN and Middle East markets, with a partnership with Dongfeng, a Chinese carmaker. A production-spec model has been spotted on international grounds.

The Nissan-Dongfeng Terrano PHEV has slightly changed from its showcased concept. We can see a changed headlight housing, slightly revised front elements, and a changed alloy design. It retains the boxy silhouette, and the rear spare tyre arm has been shortened. The overall design derives inspiration from the NX8 SUV, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain essentially places it in NEV (New Energy Vehicle) territory.

No concrete technical details are known, but we anticipate the Terrano to have at least a 100km EV-only range, making the combined driving range reach more than 1,000km. Terrano is a familiar nameplate in India, and it would strike some reminiscense, not visually, though. Although no India plan has been charted out, it may be showcased as a halo here.
