- Concept car to be showcased in India on 14 June
- Jaguar to become a full EV brand next year
Arriving in 2026
Jaguar has been in the news for its new Type 00 concept car that was unveiled at the end of last year. This is the basis for the first new Jaguar car in almost three years and will be an EV, aiming to kickstart the iconic British automaker’s journey into an all-electric future. The automaker has reiterated that the production-ready version will be unveiled this year, and have a market launch and start of sales in 2026.
Is This the New XF?
The camouflaged images of the car reveal an XF-like silhouette with a stubby rear overhang and a massive hood, giving the car its signature GT shape. In a previous story where we spotted the car testing in the snow, our sources revealed that the car will be underpinned by the new Jaguar Electrified Architecture (JEA), bespoke to the UK-based manufacturer. It is expected to have a claimed range of around 800km, giving it its GT pickings. Jaguar is unlikely to reuse the XF name, but the badge carries a lot of weight and could be a catalyst of attracting new and older buyers.
Concept Car Coming to India
The Jaguar Type 00 concept will come to India on 14 June and will be displayed at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai.
