Porsche, in its global portfolio, has 36 per cent EV products. The recently introduced Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric models will be sold alongside its ICE iterations. Here’s what both models offer.
Externally, the two models get Matrix LED headlights, contoured wings, gently sloping roofline, aero wheels, illuminated logo, 3D design for the side skirts that are finished in shades of Volcanic Grey Metallic (standard) and high-gloss black (turbo), model-specific wheel arches, rear LED light strips with animated graphics, Turbonite-coloured contrasting elements, and more. Porsche also offers an Off-road package that lets the buyer customise the car’s approach angle. Functional external bits include active air flaps, air curtains on the front bodywork, and a rear diffuser.

Dimensionally, the Cayenne Electric is 55mm longer than the ICE iteration, thereby spanning 4,985mm x 1,980mm x 1,674mm (LxBxH), and a 3,023mm wheelbase. This is a 130mm increment over the ICE iteration. Boot capacity stands at 781 litres, accompanied by a 90-litre frunk.

Internally, the Cayenne Electrics get Mood Modes – presets for seat position, ambient lights, AC, instrument cluster theme, and the overall sound stage. A tech-forward implementation enables a digital key (smartphone and smartwatch) that can be shared with up to seven users. There’s also an AI-enabled Voice Pilot, and an app market for third-party app support. There’s a 14-inch touchscreen, 14.9-inch passenger display (optional), and an AR HUD.

Both electric models get AWD and ePTM (electronic Porsche Traction Management) systems. The Cayenne Electric sprints from 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds (300kW standard power, 325kW/835Nm with launch control) and tops out at 260kmph, while the more powerful Cayenne Electric turbo (up to 850kW/1,500Nm) takes 2.8 seconds for the same sprint, topping out at 230kmph. An additional 130kW can be supplied for a 10-second boost, apart from the default 630kW for the turbo iteration. The carmaker also boasts of 600kW recuperative power (regen), claiming that 97 per cent of braking duties can be solely handled by electric motors.

Both Cayenne Electric models are underpinned by a 113kWh HV battery, rated to churn out a WLTP-claimed range of 642km (623km for the Turbo). Based on an 800V architecture, the HV battery can be charged from 10-80 per cent in 16min via a DC fast charger of up to 400kW. This adds a range of 315km (Turbo) and 325km (standard) in 10 minutes. The Cayenne Electrics also support wireless charging of up to 11kW. This happens by parking the car on a dedicated floor plate.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric is priced at Rs. 1.76 crore (standard) and Rs. 2.25 crore (Turbo). Order books for the same have already opened.
