Porsche officially unveils long wheelbase Panamera

Porsche is continuing to expand the new Panamera range with the launch of the long wheelbase model. This new addition with extra rear seat comfort will make its public debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Besides the long wheelbase model, Porsche will also be unveiling a new entry-level petrol motor in the form of the 330bhp V6 turbo unit. Power is up by 20bhp from the corresponding engine of the previous Panamera. The new 330bhp engine is combined with a rear-wheel drive Panamera and an all-wheel drive Panamera 4 along with the long wheelbase Panamera 4 Executive.

While the Panamera and Panamera 4 represent the entry-level range, the Executive model with its 150mm longer wheelbase sits at the top end of the Panamera range. Naturally, the latter is equipped even more exclusively. The standard features include a large panoramic roof, heated seats with multi-way electrical adjustment in the front and rear and adaptive air suspension with an electronically controlled damper system (Porsche Active Suspension Management / PASM).

The roll-up sunblind behind the headrests in the rear also comes as standard. The standard equipment of the Panamera 4S Executive and Panamera Turbo Executive is even more comprehensive – there’s rear-axle steering and soft-close doors. Finally, the top-spec Panamera Turbo Executive is equipped with standard features such as four-zone climate control, LED main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and ambient lighting.

As an optional extra, particularly for markets like China and the US where long wheelbase cars are in demand, is the rear seat entertainment package which includes a 10.1-inch display integrated in the backrests of the front seats. The high-quality display can also be used as tablets outside the vehicle.

Stay tuned for full details on the long wheelbase Panamera and a few other highly anticipated cars that will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week.
