Options on the Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive highlighted

Here’s the gist as to why Panamera’s Turbo Executive, with a wheelbase that’s longer than the standard version by 150mm, can actually tip at 236,500 USD (Rs 1.61 crore) from the regular price of 161,050 USD (Rs 1.09 crore) it retails at. 

Let’s understand that with the Porsche long-wheelbase Panamera Turbo Executive listed on the configurator in the US, you’d be surprised how all the options add up to bloat the price to an unprecedented level. The 75,450 USD (Rs 51.46 lakh) difference in price for these options could get you another Porsche car!

Buyers can choose from 15 exterior colours, some of which cost 3,300 USD (Rs 2.25 lakh), snazzy 21-inch SportDesign alloys for an additional 3,915 USD (Rs 2.67 lakh), and an aggressive looking sport exhaust with black tips for 3,855 USD (Rs 2.62 lakh). A ‘SportDesign’ package which includes a new nose with new air intakes, side skirts and rear diffuser at an additional 6,075 USD (Rs 4.14 lakh).

It doesn’t end here; for 1,200 USD (Rs 81,800), there’s the matrix-beam LED headlights with dynamic cornering light and speed-dependent range, 1,190 USD (Rs 81,100) for the surround view cameras, and adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist for another 3,910 USD (Rs 2.66 lakh). Performance oriented options include roll stabilization with electromechanical adjustments for 5,000 USD (Rs 3.41 lakh), and 8,960 USD (Rs 6.11 lakh) for the ceramic composite brakes.

There’s immense potential for the interiors too. Buyers can choose between nine leather shades to go with either aluminium, carbon fibre, or different types of wood trim. Noise insulation can be enhanced by the option of fitting insulated glass at 1,240 USD (Rs 84,500), heated/ventilated/massaging seats for both the front and rear can cost an extra 4,060 USD (Rs 2.76 lakh), and the rear seat entertainment system can set you back another 2,630 USD (Rs 1.79 lakh).

That’s a lot of money. And it’s set to get only more expensive when the Turbo S, and a more performance oriented hybrid make it to the market.
