The Nissan Tekton mid-SUV has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available across six variants and two engine options. Bookings start from today, with the amount set at Rs. 21000. It is the sister car to the Renault Duster and was announced in late 2025 and is a part of Nissan's four-car launch plan for the Indian car market.
Specifications
The Nissan Tekton will be offered with two engine options- the Alliance’s 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol producing 99bhp and 166Nm of torque. This engine is only available with a six-speed MT. Expected to take in a chunk of the car’s bookings is the 1.3-litre turbo petrol producing 160bhp and 280Nm of torque. This engine can be had with a six-speed MT or a six-speed DCT. Nissan has not announced the hybrid 1.8-litre unit for the Tekton. It is not expected to be offered with the SUV at present, possibly a move factored in to separate the value propositions of the Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton. Claimed mileages stand at 19.5kmpl for T160 (6MT), T280: 17.8kmpl (6MT) and 18.5kmpl (6DCT wet clutch).
Feature List and 5-Star BNCAP rating
The top-of-the-line Tekna+ variant gets features like a 10.10-inch infotainment system with Google integration, 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster, level 2 ADAS, climate control with rear AC vents, leatherette upholstery, front powered and ventilated seats, 360-degree camera package, ambient lighting with multiple shades, powered tailgate and a full LED light package. The Tekton, like its sibling, the Renault Duster, has earned a five-star BNCAP crash test rating. It has scored 30.49/32.00 for adult occupant protection and 45/49 for child occupant protection. The safety package includes six airbags, stability programme, ISOFIX child seat mounting points and seat belt reminder for all occupants.
Design highlights
The biggest highlight of the Tekton is its Nissan Patrol-inspired fascia comprising the large Nissan logo, red strip, large lower section, panoramic sunroof, slim headlamps and vertical LED DRLs. The profile gets 18-inch wheels while at the rear you can see the badging and the connected tail lamps. The interior is a beige and black affair with the same dimensions as the Duster. This means it measures in at 4.3-metres with a wheelbase of 2.6-metres. Boot space stands in at 518-litres with the second row up and 1789-litres with the second row seatback folded down. Colour options include moonbrow grey, indigo blue, flare garnet red, blade silver, onyx black, pearl white. There are also five dual-tone shades: moonbrow grey with onyx black, flare garnet red with onyx black, indigo blue with onyx black, blade silver with onyx black and pearl white with onyx black.
Rivals and variant-wise pricing
The Tekton has some big rivals in the form of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Tata Sierra, Tata Curvv, MG Hector and the Toyota Hyryder. This is Nissan's competitor for one of the most hotly contested segments in the Indian car market, and Nissan is expected to gain big volumes from this model.
