- B-MPV and C-SUV to lead charge
- Magnite CNG launched in India
Four new cars are in the pipeline
Nissan has affirmed its plans for India, which it announced in July 2024. This plan comprises an MPV based on the Triber, five-seat premium SUV, seven-seat premium SUV, and an EV. They have now confirmed that the first of this lot will arrive in the first quarter of CY2026, the second product will make way in the second half of CY2026, and the third product will be launched in Q1 2027. We expect this journey to start with the MPV, the two-row SUV, and then the three-row SUV.
The original product plan also mentioned a CBU and an EV. In the case of CBUs, it launched the X-Trail SUV and said that more CBUs for India are under consideration. The CBU models are expected to be a forte of Nissan in terms of the equation shared between both automakers.
Its alliance partner Renault had publicly stated that it had originally considered a small EV, but has now hinted that it is eyeing a premium EV. This is mostly expected to be in the Rs. 17 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh segment, and we expect Nissan to follow suit in terms of segment and pricing.

Magnite CNG
Nissan has launched a CNG version of the Magnite. It’s only available with the 1.0-litre NA petrol engine and a CNG kit manufactured by Motozen, which will be fitted at company-authorised fitment centres. All CNG models carry the company’s three-year/one lakh-kilometre standard warranty.
Here to stay in India
Finally, despite the turbulence currently being faced by Nissan Global, the automaker has assured that it is not leaving the Indian market. While Renault bought out its share in the Indian alliance, it has said it will continue to sell cars, launch new products, and expand its showroom presence as announced previously.
