- Expected to grow in size
- India debut likely
Hyundai is preparing an overhaul of its global sub-compact SUV portfolio with the next-generation Bayon, codenamed BC4. Fresh spy images indicate that the upcoming model will move away from its hatchback-derived crossover roots, and adopt a more mature SUV character with improved space and stronger road presence.

Compared to the outgoing version, the new Bayon appears larger and boxier, featuring a taller silhouette and more upright proportions. Although exact dimensions are yet to be confirmed, sources suggest a longer wheelbase and wider track, which should translate into better cabin room and improved luggage capacity.
The interior is expected to receive a significant upgrade, with a fully digital driver display, larger touchscreen infotainment system, and an expanded suite of safety and assistance features. These additions would bring the Bayon closer to segment benchmarks in terms of technology and comfort.

The model is also tipped for an India launch, where it could be positioned above the Venue. Interestingly, Hyundai was recently seen testing a new compact SUV in the country, though it remains unclear whether that prototype was an ICE or electric model. How the Bayon fits into Hyundai’s local lineup, will become clearer in the coming months.
Hyundai has not officially announced specifications or timelines, but a global debut is expected in 2026, with Europe and Korea likely to be the first markets to receive the production model.
