With the launch of the Grand i10 facelift, Hyundai marks the first major update to the hatchback ever since it was first launched in 2013. The cosmetic changes give it a fresh avatar, while the carmaker has also added a bunch of new features. Prices start from Rs 4.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the diesel range starts at Rs 5.68 lakh. Check out this picture gallery to get into the in-depth details.
The 2017 Grand i10's fascia looks more appealing due to the new hexagonal front grille and tweaked front bumper. The latter comes with new fog lamp enclosures, which house air curtains and LED DRLs.
The silhouette is the same, however, Hyundai has equipped the car with new diamond cut alloy wheels. Also, a new pattern for wheel covers is also available across lower variants.
The higher variants, in addition, get side body moulding, roof rails, boot integrated spoiler and a rear wiper on the higher variants.
The updated car's cabin now comes with a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity.
Owners will surely appreciate the infotainment system update in the car. While this is the most prominent and latest update, the system continues to support navigation and voice recognition.
The other standard features on offer with the facelift include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a cooled glove box and a rear defogger.
In terms of safety, the top-end version was already is equipped with rear parking camera and sensors, dual airbags and ABS. These features have been carried over.
There is a change in the powertrain department, with the inclusion of a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder diesel mill churning 74bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2,250 rpm.
This diesel unit comes mated only to a five-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai claims that this oil-burner can extract a fuel economy of 24.95kmpl.
On the other hand, the petrol trims are powered by the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Kappa VTVT petrol engine. This mill produces 82bhp and 114Nm of torque.
The petrol engine comes in two gearbox options- a five-speed MT and a four-speed AT. The manual has a fuel efficiency figure of 19.77kmpl and the automatic variant's economy is rated at 17.49kmpl.
