Volvo has confirmed that it will reveal the all-electric EX60 next week. The new model will sit in the mid-size SUV segment, and will be the brand’s first vehicle to feature Google’s Gemini AI assistant integrated in the infotainment system.
The EX60 is built around Volvo’s new software-defined vehicle architecture, called HuginCore. This system combines the car’s electrical architecture, core computing hardware, zone controllers, and software, allowing continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates. According to the company, this setup is intended to support driver assistance systems, infotainment functions, and future feature updates over the vehicle’s lifecycle.

One of the key highlights of the EX60 is the introduction of Gemini, Google’s conversational AI assistant. The system is designed to allow drivers to interact with the vehicle using natural, multi-step voice commands, reducing the need for manual inputs on the central display.
Volvo claims that the EX60’s processing capability allows the vehicle to analyse its surroundings continuously, and improve safety-related functions over time by learning from driving data collected across its global fleet. These features are expected to be delivered via OTA software updates.
On the powertrain front, the EX60 is claimed to offer a driving range of up to 810km on a single charge under WLTP testing conditions in an all-wheel-drive configuration. Fast-charging capability is rated at up to 400kW, which, according to Volvo, can add up to 340km of range in around ten minutes under ideal conditions. Final range and charging figures will depend on market specifications and real-world usage.
Volvo has not yet announced market-specific details, including pricing, variant line-up, or launch timelines for individual regions. Availability of features may also vary across markets.
