Mini India has introduced the latest generation of the Cooper Convertible in India, priced at Rs. 58.50 lakh, ex-showroom. The model arrives as a CBU import and bookings are now open across all dealerships, with deliveries beginning immediately. The Convertible commands a Rs. 14.80 lakh premium over the standard Cooper S and is priced Rs. 4.1 lakh higher than the JCW trim.
The new Convertible carries forward the classic Mini silhouette but with updated detailing. The front gets redesigned round LED headlamps with multiple lighting signatures and a new grille layout. The rear receives vertically aligned LED tail lamps finished in a flush surface design.
Buyers can choose from four exterior colours. This includes British Racing Green, Chili Red, Sunny Side Yellow, and Ocean Wave Green, along with Black or White mirror caps. The model rides on aerodynamically designed 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
The electrically operated fabric roof can be opened in 18 seconds and closed in 15 seconds, at speeds of up to 30kmph. It can also be partially opened to act as a sunroof. The boot capacity stands at 215 litres with the roof closed and 160 litres when folded.
The cabin takes on Mini’s new minimalist theme with a round OLED centre display that functions as both the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. It runs BMW’s Operating System 9 with integrated navigation, connected services, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Intelligent Personal Assistant.
Other equipment includes a heads-up display, Harman Kardon audio system, digital key functionality, wireless charging, toggle bar controls, and multiple Experience Modes that alter the cabin’s light, sound, and graphics. Electric sports seats in Vescin upholstery are standard, along with an active seat for the driver.
Powering the new Convertible is a 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine producing 201bhp and 300Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual clutch sport automatic gearbox. The car achieves 0 to 100kmph in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 240kmph. The Convertible comes with a standard two year unlimited kilometre warranty and 24x7 roadside assistance.
