MG has officially confirmed that the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs will receive a fresh update on 15 December. This will be their fourth front-end styling update since launch, underlining MG’s efforts to keep the Hector twins relevant in a competitive segment.
The upcoming facelift will feature a revamped exterior, including a redesigned front fascia, new grille layout, and updated bumpers. Alloy wheels are expected to get a redesign, too, with reports suggesting the possibility of larger 19-inch wheels. The rear end will also undergo modest changes with a refreshed bumper layout. The pictures also reveal a new dark blue hue for the SUV.

Inside the cabin, while the overall layout remains unchanged, it may get improved comfort and convenience features. We expect the large portrait-style 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system to get upgraded hardware, cleaner centre console layout, and a different interior theme.
Under the hood, MG is not expected to tinker with the powertrain lineup. The facelifted models should continue with the same tried-and-tested engines – 1.5-litre turbo petrol with six-speed manual or CVT, and a 2.0-litre diesel paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Given the refreshed styling, updated features, and known mechanicals, the 2026 Hector facelift will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and the Mahindra XUV700.
