The bestselling roadster of all time – the Mazda MX-5, is about to go on sale soon. Mazda has revealed that this new model will hit the showrooms, starting August 29.
The new MX-5 has been priced at £18,495 (Rs 17.84 lakh) for the entry-level model. The 9 model range goes on till £23,295 (Rs 22.46 lakh) for the top-spec model.
The fourth-gen model is the lightest MX-5 since the first generation. It’s shorter, lower and wider than the outgoing car, with the smallest overhangs and lowest centre of gravity yet. For Europe, Mazda has announced that it will be offering this new model with two efficient petrol engine options delivering 131bhp and 160bhp in low and high state of tunes respectively.
Introduced in 1989, the MX-5 instantly revived the market for affordable lightweight sports cars. Some 26 years later, the Japanese sports car is still going strong. Now in its fourth generation, the MX-5 is headed for select European markets starting with the UK.
