Bookings for the new Maruti Brezza have opened, with an official reveal expected to happen on 23 July. This is a mid-life update for this generation of the Brezza and is expected to see a lot of changes under the skin, both inside and outside.
Updated alloy wheels
The overall design of the Maruti Brezza in this updated guise is not expected to change, but there is a new design for the alloy wheels. They are still diamond cut but moves to a petal-like design. The top versions that will sport this shape are expected to continue with 16-inch units.
New powertrain option expected
The Brezza has long had to contend with a higher price due to its 1.5-litre engine, which pushes it above the tax bracket for sub-4 metre vehicles. We expect Maruti will fit it with their 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol producing 100bhp and 147Nm. This engine can be had with either a five-speed MT or a six-speed AT with paddle shifters. This engine will allow the car to comply with the regulations of the sub-four metre game and put it in contention with a number of cars like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Toyota Taisor and the Maruti Fronx, all of which offer similar packages. Also expected to show up here will be the underbody CNG tank option that debuted with the Maruti Victoris last year.
Added features
The top-spec Brezza already gets quite a few features, but we expect Maruti Suzuki to add things like a powered driver’s seat and ventilation as a part of the package.
