    New Hyundai Xcent variants explained

    Hyundai has finally launched the new Xcent in India at a lucrative starting price of Rs 5.38 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Loaded with new features and an upgraded diesel engine, the new model is available in five new trims- E, E+, S, SX and SX(O). This time around, the new model additionally offers a new E+ variant that comes sits second to the base variant. Interestingly, dual front airbags have been offered as standard on the new model.

    The 2017 Hyundai Xcent is available in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 1.2-litre unit that generates 81bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. While the diesel is powered by a new 1.2-litre unit that generates 75bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. Both the variants gets five-speed manual transmission as standard, while four-speed automatic is option in petrol guise. Read on to find the feature list in every model –

    Xcent E – Offered as a base variant, the trim is available in petrol as well as diesel engine option. In order to cut corners for introducing front passenger airbag, the base trim no longer gets the ABS. On the front, the trim gets chrome radiator grille and new sweptback headlamps, while the rear is offered with chrome garnish and wraparound tail lamps. The interior is offered in two-tone beige and black combination, blue interior illumination, front and rear room lamps and adjustable rear seat headrests. The E trim gets a manual AC with heater and front power windows. The base petrol variant is priced at Rs 5.38 lakh, while the diesel comes at Rs 6.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).


    Xcent E+ - For the first time, the Xcent is offered with an E+ variant. In addition to features in the base variant, the E+ variant is offered with front fog lamps, blackened B-Pillar, body coloured door handles and ORVMs, central locking and full wheel covers. Inside, the vehicle additionally gets rear seat armrest with cup holders, day and night rear view mirror and digital clock in multi information display. The vehicle also gets rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVM, all-four power windows, two-DIN Integrated Audio with Bluetooth and aux-in and USB connectivity. The petrol variant is priced Rs 5.93 lakh, while the diesel is offered at Rs 6.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

    Xcent S – In addition to features in the E+ variant, Xcent’s S variant is additionally offered with rear defogger, LED DRLs and turn indicator or ORVMs. In terms of features, it comes loaded with rear parking sensor, keyless entry (folding key), impact sensing door unlock, passenger vanity mirror, luggage lamp and tilt steering. Inside, the S variant gets metal finish inside door handles, and chrome finished gear knob and parking lever tip. The S trim is also available with an automatic transmission option which additionally offers a smart phone holder with charging port. The manual version in petrol and diesel is priced at Rs 6.29 lakh and Rs 7.19 lakh, respectively. While the automatic petrol variant is priced at Rs 7.09 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi)


    Xcent SX – For those who desire for more, Hyundai has the SX trim in the Xcent which in addition to all the features from the S variant additionally offers rear camera with display on audio and ABS. The variant also gets R14 clean silver alloy wheels and shark fins roof antennae. The SX variant gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smart phone navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirror Link and voice recognition. For driver’s convenience, the SX variant gets a driver seat adjustment function. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 6.73 lakh, while the diesel version is Rs 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

    Xcent SX(O) – In addition to all the features from the SX variant, the SX(O) variant is offered with smart key, chrome outside door handles and R15 diamond cut alloy wheels. As for the interior, it is offered with leather wrapped steering wheel and leather wrapped gear knob with chrome coating. The trim also gets a push button start/stop. The petrol version is priced at Rs 7.51 lakh, while the diesel trim is offered at Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
