- Expected to be launched later this year
- Likely to be a new localised electric SUV
A new compact Hyundai SUV has been spotted testing on public roads in Mumbai for the first time. Two heavily camouflaged test mules were seen together, suggesting different variants of the same model, likely a lower and a higher trim, given the visible differences in their external styling.
Despite the camouflage, the SUV reveals several design cues. It features a tall and upright stance, similar to the new-generation Venue, along with sleek front and rear lighting elements that appear to follow a segmented LED pattern. The headlamps are positioned low on the bumper, while the rear gets vertically mounted reflectors integrated into the bumper. Flush-fitting door handles, black roof rails, and a prominent black roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp are also visible.

Other notable elements include a black shark fin antenna and two different wheel setups. One test mule was riding on steel wheels, while the other featured alloy wheels, likely measuring 15 or 16 inches.
Interior details remain under wraps, as there were no clear images of the cabin. However, based on Hyundai’s recent product strategy, the SUV is expected to offer a large touchscreen infotainment system measuring 10 inches or more, a fully digital instrument cluster, and possibly Level 2 ADAS.
Interestingly, during its October 2025 investor presentation, Hyundai had confirmed plans for two new SUVs for India. This test mule aligns closely with the brand’s promise of a new localised compact electric SUV, which was said to feature advanced infotainment technology, Level 2 ADAS, and a driving range suitable for highway usage.
More test sightings in the coming months should reveal additional details about the SUV’s design, interior layout, and powertrain options.
