New car launches in August - Kia Seltos, Renault Triber, Hyundai Grand i10

As we move closer to the festive season, car manufacturers in the country are gearing up with new product launches. New car buyers will soon have more options to choose from across different body styles ranging from the likes of a hatchback to the premium sedan. Here below are five new cars which are due for India launch in August –

Kia Seltos

Kia Seltos is due for India launch on 22 August. Bookings for the SUV commenced earlier this month on 16 July and interested customers can book the car online or through the dealership in the country. The Seltos SUV will be available in two trims - GT Line and Tech Line with many first in segment features. Under the hood, the Seltos will be available in three BS-VI engine options - Smartstream 1.5 petrol, 1.5 diesel CRDI VGT and Smartstream 1.4 Turbo petrol. These engines will be offered in three automatic transmission options – seven-DCT, IVT, and six-AT along with six-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai new Grand i10

Post much wait, Hyundai will launch the new Grand i10 in India next month. The new Hyundai Grand i10 will be based on an all-new platform that is expected to be lighter, flexible, safer and wider than its predecessor. The new model is likely to get a roomier cabin, mostly due to slimmer seats as compared to the current version. Under the hood, the vehicle is expected to get BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engine options. There have also been reports of a downsized three-cylinder petrol engine likely to be introduced in the new Grand i10 as seen in other Hyundai cars.

Renault Triber

Renault Triber, the sub-four-metre seven-seater vehicle is based on a modified CMF-A platform. The Triber will be offered, at the time of launch, with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 71bhp/96Nm. This engine will be offered with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki XL6

The cross variant of the standard Ertiga was recently spied on a test and is likely to be named as the Maruti Suzuki XL6. The upcoming vehicle is likely to be launched on 21 August and will be sold at the Nexa chain of dealerships. As seen in the image, the Ertiga based premium MPV gets a completely new fascia with a new bumper, rectangular fog lamp housings, faux brushed aluminium finished skid plate and wide air intake.

BMW new 3 series

German luxury car manufacturer, BMW will launch the seventh-generation BMW 3 Series in India on 21 August. The new 3 Series will come with petrol and diesel powertrains, while hybrid and pure electric versions are set to arrive by 2022. Internally named G20, the all-new BMW 3 Series is lighter and bigger than the car it replaces. The new BMW 3 Series is based on the CLAR platform, which also underpins the 5 Series and 7 Series. The new platform is stiffer and has resulted in a weight saving of almost 55kg.
