- Bigger battery and buffed charging speeds
- Enhanced safety
JSW MG Motor India recently launched the updated Windsor EV, which has already tasted respectable market success. An upgraded version with a better range was ever since imperative. The Windsor EV Pro is a proper upgrade, layered over the existing Windsor EV. Here’s top five changes the Windsor EV Pro gets.
1. Bigger Battery
The primary upgrade that the Windsor EV Pro gets is a buffed battery, now standing at 52.9kWh (prismatic cell LFP) from 38kWh. As a result, claimed range numbers have gone up to 449km from 332km. The PMS motor and power figures stay the same at 134bhp and 200Nm.
2. Added Safety
The Windsor EV Pro gets Level 2 ADAS, which is absent in the 38kWh version.
3. New Cosmetics
The Windsor EV Pro gets three new exterior shades – Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red. Additionally, the interior gets a dual-tone ivory and black finish. Faux wooden accents have also been added. The alloys also get a new design.
4. Added Battery Functionality
The Windsor EV Pro gets V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, enabling reverse charging for appliances, electric scooters, and other electric cars. The first owner also gets unlimited battery warranty. Fast charge speeds have gone up to 60kW from the existing model’s 45kW.
5. Powered Tailgate
The tailgate with the Windsor EV Pro is now electronically operated.
The MG Windsor EV Pro is available in only one top-spec variant, getting ex-showroom tags of Rs. 17.49 lakh (with battery) and Rs. 12.49 lakh (BaaS). The top-spec Windsor EV Essence variant (38kWh) is priced at Rs. 16 lakh (ex-showroom). You essentially pay Rs. 1.5 lakh more for the added upgrades. Prospective buyers may not find this price jump overly acrid.
