- India launch on 12 February
- Will be offered only with diesel power
The MG Majestor is finally being launched nearly a year after it was showcased to the Indian market at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This is MG's new flagship ICE SUV, and it has a solid battle on its hands with the segment-leading Toyota Fortuner. The Japanese SUV is an established name, and is a popular choice among the political, landed gentry, and the film class. Many have tried to unseat it in the past, but none have been able to come close. However, this time, it may be different with the MG Majestor, as it is bringing two crucial weapons that could change the game.

Road Presence
The Majestor spans 5.04 metres long, with a wheelbase of 2.95 metres, the latter being as much as the length of the MG Comet EV. This will be India's longest car under Rs. 60 lakh, and it is certainly larger than the Fortuner, which measures in at 4.79 metres, and has a wheelbase of 2.74 metres. In fact, it is even bigger than the Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tayron. There is no doubt that a large part of this is due to the car's body-on-frame nature, and massive front and rear overhangs.

Feature List
However, the bigger push will come in the form of the Majestor's feature list. It comprises Level 2 ADAS, fully digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with wireless phone mirroring, JBL sound system, 12.25-inch display for the infotainment system, captain seats for the second row, powered tailgate, and a full LED light package.

Two-pronged Attack
But wait, there is a third one, too….
Backing these two highlights, will also be a two-prong attack in the form of the Majestor and the Gloster. Yes, it will sell both cars side-by-side in a bid to gain market share across the table. It is expected that the Gloster's top-end variants will be culled in a bid to ensure a price gap between itself and the Majestor. This will also allow MG to cover a wide price bracket, allowing it to attack the Fortuner from two price points.
Growing Segment
This price bracket that the Majestor will enter, has suddenly come alive with a host of SUVs in the last one year. We now have the Volkswagen Tayron, Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Skoda Kodiaq, as well as future models from Hyundai and Honda.
