Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift spotted testing in Germany

MB’s facelifted S-Class, codenamed W222, was caught testing in Germany and unlike the earlier sightings, the new shots depict a wrapped fascia and rear portion of the car.

While the updated flagship from Mercedes-Benz is expected to be launched worldwide in 2017, the highlights of the upgrade include exterior design changes, new engines, and a modified interior. Exterior revisions include the use of sharper head lamps with revised internals, slightly redesigned bumpers and bonnet, and a mildly reworked set of tail lights. 

Reports claim that the two displays on the dashboard have been brought together by removing the buttons that separated them. With the centre console now featuring a redesigned interface with a new touchpad, sources add that the new unit will be more intuitive to use. Another update for the facelifted S-Class will be the use of a new steering wheel that looks sportier than what’s being offered as of now. 

Mercedes-Benz is expected to equip their facelifted S-Class with a new range of inline-six engines, and it is speculated that the new engine family could come off the same manufacturing line to reduce production costs. Stay tuned to Carwale for more information on the facelifted S-Class.
