- All-new platform, the Ertiga gets more space
- Will get new 1.5-litre petrol, 1.3 DDiS diesel might be retained
Maruti Suzuki is all-set to launch the next-gen Ertiga on 21st November. The new Ertiga is set to boast a sea of changes considering this is an all-new vehicle. The Ertiga now boasts the new-gen Heartect platform which is lighter and stronger. The new platform has also made the car wider and longer than before. Design-wise, the Ertiga gets a full makeover. Slimmer headlamps with LED’s and a sleeker silhouette makes the Ertiga a much better looker too.
Powering the new Ertiga will the new 1.5-litre petrol engine that also powers the Ciaz. This should make the Ertiga a better people hauler. As for the diesel, we think Maruti will continue with the tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS diesel till their in-house 1.5-litre diesel engine debuts.
On the insides, the Ertiga will share parts from the Dzire/Swift which includes the steering wheel, the touch-screen infotainment system and more. The new Ertiga will go up against the recently launched Mahindra Marazzo. Keep watching this space for more.
