Maruti Suzuki recalls 69,555 vehicles for faulty wiring harness issue

Maruti Suzuki has recalled 69,555 vehicles due to a potential faulty wiring issue, making it one of their biggest recalls in the country.

This recall exercise has been called for around 55,938 units of the old Swift Dzire, 12,486 units of the old Swift and 1,131 units of the Ritz manufactured between March 8, 2010 and August 11, 2013.The company said that this exercise is limited to vehicles within the above specified range and does not pertain to any other vehicle of the company or its exports. 

Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all the affected vehicles. The dealer workshop technicians will inspect the wiring harness fitment condition and carry out the necessary repairs, free of cost. This is the second time the country’s largest manufacturer has announced a recall exercise. In April this year, the Gurgaon-based manufacturer had recalled around 1 lakh units of the Ertiga, Swift and the Dzire to replace the faulty fuel filler neck.
