- Pre-bookings open for the electric SUV
- Rivals include Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Nexon EV
Initially showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will likely launch in India next month. According to our sources, Maruti Suzuki has started accepting pre-bookings for the electric SUV, which will be available with two battery pack options and three variants.

Like most manufacturers operating in India, Maruti is taking a top-down approach when it comes to selling electric vehicles. The carmaker is banking heavily on the e Vitara to do well in the EV space and put up a strong case for the company before introducing smaller EVs to the market. Besides playing on their usual strengths (read: affordability and after sales experience), Maruti is going all out when it comes to features. The e Vitara will be the brand’s first model to get Level 2 ADAS, fully digital instrument cluster, and a few other high-end features.
The e Vitara will also get a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control, wireless charger, ambient lighting, auto-dimming IRVM, 360-degree camera, powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, sliding and recline function for the second row, and seven airbags.

The variants for the e Vitara include Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, all featuring a front-wheel drive configuration. Meanwhile, the size of the battery will depend on the versions. For instance, the Delta variant will get a 48.8kWh capacity battery pack, whereas the Zeta and Alpha variants will have a larger 61.1kWh unit. That said, all variants will come with 7kW AC charging and 70kW DC fast charging capability.
