- Only available for the private market variant
- New six-seat variant
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has now joined the list of automakers’ budget cars offering six airbags as standard across the range. The automaker has now also added a six-seat option for the MPV, making it the first three-row vehicle in this part of the market to offer this option. The six-seat option replaces the optional seven-seat variant in the Eeco’s lineup but no price has been announced for it as yet.
The only car left in the Maruti lineup without six airbags is the S-presso hatchback that currently only has the option of dual front airbags. Also, six airbags are only offered with the private market variant and not the commercial versions.
The Eeco is Maruti’s three-row challenger in the sub-10 lakh segment and is the successor to the Omni MPV. It can be had in five-seat and six-seat configurations and with both petrol and CNG power. The engine in petrol guise produces 80bhp and 105Nm while in CNG guise it produces 69bhp and 95Nm. The only transmission on offer is a five-speed manual.
