- Was expected to be launched in May 2025
- Select dealers accepting unofficial pre-bookings
Maruti Suzuki’s first electric offering, the e Vitara, was expected to be launched in India in May 2025. We can confirm that the launch of the model has been delayed and will now take place in the second half of the current calendar year. Select dealers have also started accepting bookings of the electric SUV for a token of Rs. 25,000.

Maruti’s Creta EV rival is now scheduled for a launch towards the end of September, which is also when the automaker will commence deliveries of the model. The e Vitara will also spawn as a Toyota derivative in the form of the Urban Cruiser EV, which is expected to enter the mid-size electric SUV segment a little later.

Making its debut in India earlier this year at the Auto Expo 2025, the e Vitara will be available with 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs, both paired with a single electric motor. The model is claimed to return a range of 500km on a single charge. It will be followed by three more electric vehicles by the end of the decade, details of which are available on our website.
