- ADAS tech added
- Entry price still accessible
The Maruti Baleno facelift has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 6.10 lakh, and it packs in a few upgrades compared to its predecessor. Here are top five highlights of the updated hatchback.
Price
While the preceding iteration was priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh, the current price is only Rs. 11,000 higher. This has essentially kept the entry point accessible.
Updated Design
The front end has been revised, and you see three big chrome slats, and the grille has no logo. The Suzuki logo has been moved on the bonnet. Fog-lamp housings have also been changed.
New Features
A Qi-certified wireless charging pad has been introduced in the Baleno’s cabin. Wireless charging heats up the phone, but in this case, there will be no thermal issues, since the charging area is actively cooled. Ventilated front seats and a highline TPMS have also been added in the feature list.
Level 2 ADAS
While this car is not the first in the price bracket to offer this feature, it is a segment-first for an affordable hatchback. The inclusion of this safety tech adds an extra layer of protection.
CNG + AMT
Although the new Z-series engine is down to three cylinders from four in the preceding version, the Maruti-first CNG + AMT is finally here, although it is not available immediately, and is expected to come soon.
The petrol mode churns out 81.74bhp/112Nm, while the CNG mode churns out 68.74bhp/101.8Nm.
