- Powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine
- Gets a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission
We recently tested the Mahindra XUV 7XO in its diesel manual avatar for its fuel efficiency, and you can read all about it on our website. We have now gone ahead and tested the diesel automatic version for its real-world mileage figures.
XUV 7XO powertrains
The XUV 7XO is available with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, both of which are paired with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic units. The petrol motor belts out 200bhp and 380Nm, while the diesel mill generates 182bhp and 420Nm (450Nm for AT). Notably, Mahindra has not revealed the fuel efficiency figures of this updated three-row SUV. Also up for offer are AWD variants.
Mahindra XUV 7XO mileage
During our signature mileage test, the XUV 7XO, in this diesel AT avatar, returned a mileage of 9.64kmpl in the city, which is lower than the MID-indicated figure of 10.8kmpl. Similarly, out on the highway, the model returned a fuel efficiency of 18.9kmpl, which was higher than the MID-indicated figure of 16.5kmpl.
Test conditions
Our fuel efficiency tests for all cars always involve a standard set of procedure, like using the default setting, be it the AC and seat ventilation modes, drive modes, or something else. In this case, the Zap drive mode was used, while the auto start-stop function was left on as well. The AC temperature stood at 22 degrees, while the blower speed was set to four. Additionally, the seat ventilation was set to level three. Meanwhile, all other functions like the infotainment system were used as they would be in regular driving conditions.
