- To run on ethanol-blended fuel
The 2025 Bharat Mobility Show brought in some flex-fuel cars, out of which the Mahindra XUV 3XO iteration was also present. There's no launch timeline yet, but it is expected soon, along with several versions from different manufacturers.

The XUV 3XO flex-fuel model is powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engine that powers the standard 3XO. However, modifications have been made to the motor to run on 20 to 85 per cent ethanol-blended petrol, though the overall design language and set of features remains unchanged.
The flex-fuel version of the Mahindra XUV 3XO bears similarities with the Tata Punch flex-fuel, both of which don't get any cosmetic changes. In fact, even the Creta flex-fuel version on display at the show was identical to the standard SUV. Well, that is primarily because of the focus on the updating the engines to operate on ethanol-blended fuels. It will help provide an alternative to conventional petrol, and also in lowering harmful emissions.
