- India launch on 27 November
- Expected to borrow powertrains from the XEV 9e
One of the new functions that the Mahindra XEV 9S will get is the Power Boss function for the front passenger seat. This is a step up from the current XUV700’s manual Boss function. The new teaser image reveals the ability to control both the backrest and the seat base via a switch panel for the second row (left) occupant. The video also reveals a panoramic sunroof, beige interiors, and ventilation for the front occupants, all expected features for an SUV of this size and price bracket.

The XEV 9S is Mahindra's first-ever three-row born-electric vehicle. It is the third evolution of the electric 700, which began life as the XUV.e8, followed by the XEV 7e nameplate, and has now been christened the XEV 9S. It shares the same INGLO modular skateboard as the BE6 and the XEV 9e, both of which were launched a year ago.

The XEV 9S is expected to be positioned above the 9e, thereby slotting itself in Rs. 21-30 lakh bracket. The launch is on 27 November, but going by Mahindra's past actions, we expect them to announce a disruptive introductory pricing, with the prices for other variants expected to be announced later.
