Mahindra has introduced the new XEV 9S, its first three-row electric offering for the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs. 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The model, which is essentially an EV derivative of the XUV700, joins the XEV 9e, BE 6, and the XUV400 in the brand’s electric SUV portfolio.
On the design front, the 2025 Mahindra XEV 9S features a blanked-out front grille, L-shaped LED DRLs and vertically stacked projector units in the headlight module, LED light bar on the fascia, flush-fitting door handles, fresh alloys with aero inserts, roof rails, shark-fin antenna, and the dedicated Mahindra Electric logo on both ends.
Inside, the seven-seat Mahindra electric SUV comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, three-screen setup on the dashboard, screens for second row occupants, Harman Kardon music system, powered Boss mode, two-spoke multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, frunk, reclining second row seats, EPB with auto-hold, and headrests for all occupants. Also up for offer are four drive modes (Everyday, Race, Range, and Snow), five levels of regen, and a 150 litre frunk.
Propelling the new Mahindra XEV 9S are the familiar 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs borrowed from the BE6 and XEV 9e siblings. The torque output remains unchanged at 380Nm for both versions, while the power stands at 228bhp and 282bhp for the smaller and larger battery packs, respectively. Also up for offer is a new 70kWh battery pack with a single electric motor developing 241bhp and 380Nm. The model is claimed to sprint from 0-100kmph in seven seconds.
