We have previously sighted Mahindra’s NU_IQ-based Vision S, and have also seen a patent of the Vision SXT. Fast forward to this day, the carmaker has now patented the Vision T, and this could be the production-spec model.
When we compare the patent with the erstwhile showcased concept, we come to notice that both are identical. While we would conventionally say that design cues have been borrowed, this could very well make it to the final version. A boxy silhouette, chunky off-road tyres, and a possible length of above four metres, indicates that this is an off-road-biased SUV. The retention of this design language indicates that enthusiasts will get exactly what they have seen.
What’s under the hood, is not known for now, but we can make guesses. Mechanically, we expect the Vision T to get a low-range transfer case, AWD, single electronic differential, and dedicated off-road modes. Powertrains could include petrol, diesel, and electric, given the platform's cross-compatibility and requisite CAFE norms compliance. Production for the Vision S, X, T, and the SXT starts in 2027.
