- Initial production for the Vision X and the Vision T at the Chakan Plant, to shift to Nagpur later
- Vision S to be directly produced at the Nagpur plant, no details on the SXT
15 August, 2025 – This is when Mahindra unveiled the Vision S, X, T, and the SXT, built on top of the NU_IQ platform. While the same nameplates will not be carried over in their production-spec iterations, Mahindra has charted out long-term plans for this lineup.

Nagpur Facility: Reducing Bottlenecks
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO, Mahindra & Mahindra, announced the carmaker’s production strategy. Mahindra’s recently inaugurated 1,500-acre Nagpur plant is future-ready. With an investment of Rs. 15,000 crore, it will base new-gen vehicles across both ICE and EV powertrains, including those from the NU_IQ platform. Out of the four Vision concepts, derivatives of the Vision X and the Vision T will start rolling off production lines from the Chakan plant in 2027, which will be shifted to the Nagpur facility later. Production for derivatives of the Vision S will directly start at the Nagpur plant. The carmaker also noted that SUVs exceeding four metres (length) take 60 per cent of its demand pie, while sub-compact SUVs (under four metres) take the remaining 40 per cent.

Catering to Increasing Demand
The Mahindra XUV700’s electric avatar, the XEV 9S, has witnessed a high demand influx. To cater to the same, the carmaker has also planned to increase the production bandwidth by around 3,000-5,000 units, which will be a collaborative production across the Chakan and Nashik plants. Additionally, the carmaker will roll out LHD (Left-Hand Drive) vehicles from 2028.
