- Prices set to be announced next week
- Will be showcased alongside a new product
Just earlier this week, Mahindra introduced the 2026 Scorpio N, and the carmaker is already set for another launch that is right around the corner. Sources in the know have confirmed that the new Thar facelift will be launched in India next week at the brand’s annual Independence Day event.
The refreshed Mahindra Thar three-door will be introduced alongside an all-new product, which is likely to be the production-ready version of the Vision S SUV. The Indian SUV brand is expected to roll out a few more updates, although the finer details on this remain unknown at the moment.
Coming to the updated Thar, the lifestyle SUV is expected to receive updates in line with that of its elder sibling, the Thar Roxx. Cosmetic updates will include a new grille, C-shaped LED DRLs integrated into the new projector headlamps, new LED taillights, and a fresh design for the alloy wheels.
Inside, the facelifted Mahindra Thar could come equipped with an ADAS suite, fully digital colour instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and more. We expect the powertrains, which include 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 2.2-litre diesel motors, paired with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, to be carried over unchanged. Also up for offer will be 4x4 and RWD trims.
