- Showcased in its concept form in 2023
- Announces the start of LHD model production in 2028
It is official, the Mahindra Scorpio N-based pickup truck will arrive in 2027. Showcased as the Global Pik Up concept in 2023, it will be the most significant upgrade for the Scorpio pickup line since its inception over two decades ago.
The Global Pik Up, despite its concept car nature, showcased the design highlights, as well as the new interiors that it will get in its production stage. At that time, Mahindra announced it with a 2.2-litre diesel, six-speed AT, and 4WD, but we now expect a petrol-powered model to be in the mix.
The Scorpio N-based pickup truck had always been a secondary show for the automaker, and this is the first time that it will branch out into a completely separate model with its own narrative. It will be launched in markets like Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa before an India launch.
Production of LHD Models
Looking to make its mark in the global automotive market, Mahindra has announced that it will be ready to produce LHD models in 2028, a large chunk of which is expected to come from its upcoming Nagpur facility that will be completed around the same time. This will open up the automaker's complete ICE and EV range to Gulf and European markets.
