The much-anticipated Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup Truck has been revealed. It’s the production-ready version of the Global PIk up concept that was revealed in 2023 and will be launched in the Indian market in 2027.
Staying true to the concept vehicle, the Lifestyler gets a blacked-out grille and the same headlamps from its SUV sibling. Also included in the fascia are two orange inserts in the grille, giving the Lifestyler a distinct appearance.
While Mahindra has not revealed the official dimensions, the Scorpio Lifestyler is expected to measure in at 5.30-meters with a wheelbase of 3.11 meters, and we expect this production-ready SUV to stay true to those numbers. Mahindra had only revealed a double-cab variant at the time of writing this story.
The rear gets E-shaped stacked LED tail lamps with the centrally mounted stop lamp fixed on the door of the pickup bed. The rear design also includes a step built into the rear bumper as a part of the overall design. Depending on the market, this could also be offered with a metallic finish.
Mahindra had the interior sealed off but showcased the interiors with design images. The truck gets a new steering wheel design, a massive vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and a brown-and-beige interior theme.
No technical specifications have been revealed, but it is more than likely that the car will be offered with the SUV's 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel. Both get the option of a six-speed AT and a six-speed MT, with the diesel also getting the option of a full-fledged 4X4 system.
At the unveiling, Mahindra also showcased three special editions of the truck called the Trail Edition, Valley Edition and the Reef Edition, hinting at three directions that Mahindra is taking with the truck. These also hint at the truck’s four main markets outside of India: Africa, Australia, the Middle East and Latin America.
Mahindra has hinted at a price under Rs. 19.79 lakh, and we expect that it will top out closer to Rs 27 lakh, significantly undercutting both the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu V-Cross D-Max. We also expect Mahindra to introduce a version for the commercial market in mid-2027.
