- Powered by a new 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors
- Debuted at 2024 Monterey Car Week
Automobili Lamborghini has dropped the covers off the all-new Temerario sports car at the 2024 Monterey Car Week. This model, a spiritual successor to the Huracan, ditches the V10 engine for a hybrid V8 powertrain.
Fresh off the lines at Sant'Agata Bolognese, the Temerario, in typical Lamborghini fashion, derives its name from a fighting bull in Italy. The new model gets a fresh design while featuring the signature hexagon-shaped elements, visible in parts such as the DRLs and LED taillights.
Design
Up front, the new Lamborghini Temerario gets a fairly cleaner fascia, with LED DRLs on either side, slanting bumper inserts flanked by projector fog lights, and a number plate recess alongside horizontal fins. The famed raging bull crest sits in the centre of the front bumper with a sleek set of dual pod LED headlamps on either side.
The side profile retains the iconic wedge-shaped silhouette, triangular insert above the hexagon-shaped fuel cap, gloss black slat running in the centre of the rear fender, Temerario badge on the lower end of the side sill, and a set of fresh 20-inch alloy wheels with contrast-coloured callipers.
Towards the derriere, it boasts a centrally mounted exhaust with twin pipes, hexagon-shaped LED taillights, integrated ducktail spoiler, and a massive carbon-fibre diffuser. Also up for offer is a minimalistic rear bumper that shows off the chunky rear tyre profile.
Interior
Step inside this latest Italian and there is a new steering wheel inspired by the Lamborghini cars of the racing world to greet you. It now houses a red-crowned dial, which controls the drive modes. There are a plethora of other buttons, including one for the launch control function.
Additionally, the passenger seat has its own 9.1-inch screen that mimics the driver’s display. Elsewhere, it gets the latest HMI, which is the brains behind the 8.4-inch vertically positioned touchscreen infotainment system. As always, there’s a bucket load of optional features, including a range of carbon-fibre inserts, and customisations via the brand’s Ad Personam division.
Engine
At the heart of the 2024 Temerario is a new 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine mated with a 3.8kWh battery pack paired with three electric motors. The combined power figure stands at 907bhp. The fossil fuel-powered engine develops 789bhp singing away to glory up to 10,000rpm, while the peak torque of 730Nm comes up between 4,000-7,000rpm. The electric powertrain has an output of 295bhp and powers the front wheels, thereby enabling a 4WD configuration. Meanwhile, transmission duties are taken care of by an eight-speed DCT unit.
