Kia has revealed the Syros EV with an ARAI-certified claimed range of up to 526km, making it one of the longest-range models in its class. Offered with two battery pack options, the larger 54kWh battery delivers the headline figure, while the smaller 42kWh unit is claimed to return 443km on a single charge.
Among its closest competitors, the Hyundai Creta Electric offers a claimed range of 510km with its 51.4kWh battery pack, while the Kia Carens Clavis EV is claimed to travel up to 490km on a full charge in its long-range guise.
The MG ZS EV, which has been on sale for several years, offers an ARAI-certified claimed range of 461km from its 50.3kWh battery. Meanwhile, the Tata Nexon EV with the 45kWh battery pack is rated for a claimed 489km, placing it between the ZS EV and the new Syros EV. Although real-world driving range will depend on factors such as driving style, traffic conditions and weather, the Syros EV's 526km claim makes it a strong contender on paper.
