- New X-Line variant introduced
The much-anticipated Kia Syros EV has been officially revealed ahead of its India launch shortly. Bookings have opened from today and it will be offered across seven trims and two powertrain options. The former takes a big leap as the Syros too now joins the X-Line family. Prices are expected to be announced next month. Bookings have opened from today and here are highlights of each variant.
Kia Syros HTK
This is the entry-level variant and is only available with the 42kWh battery pack. Highlights of this trim include:

This is the highest point for the 443km (MIDC claimed range) 42kWh battery pack, and in this variant you get the following:

Seat back pockets
Kia Syros HTK+ ER and HTX ER
This is the entry point of the 526km (MIDC claimed) 51.4kWh battery pack. The motor here produces 168bhp/255Nm as compared to 133bhp/255Nm from the motor attached to the 42kWh battery pack. This gets the same features as the HTK+ of the 42kWh battery pack version but now with 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The HTX ER gets Kia Connect and a day/night function for the IRVM with controls for the connected car technology.
HTX+ER
In the Syros EV range, this is a large step forward and is likely to have a premium of at least Rs. 70,000 to a lakh over the previous versions and for that kind of money you get the following features.

X-Line
This will be the most expensive trim in the Kia lineup and is expected to command another lakh over the HTX+ER variant and features the following.

Observations
Unlike its ICE sibling that has seen a feature drain from its overall package, this EV is quite loaded right from the base variant, and that’s expected to offer good value among the lower-spec versions of bigger EVs in this same expected price category. The top-end X-Line is likely to be quite expensive due to the number of features on offer and could see Kia bring in an introductory price to get things moving. As expected, the safety package is standard across the range and features a large bunch of things like six airbags, ABS, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rollover sensors and highline TPMS.
