Kia Syros recently secured a five-star safety rating in Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) crash tests, making it one of the safest cars in India.
Equipped with six airbags, 16 autonomous safety features, and Level 2 ADAS, the Syros scored 30.21 of 32 points in AOP (Adult Occupant Protection) and 44.42 of 49 points in COP (Child Occupant Protection), giving the compact SUV a full-fledged five-star rating for both adult and child safety. These safety ratings are on par with those of the Mahindra BE 6 and the Skoda Kylaq. The Syros also underwent other tests which include Offset Deformable Barrier (ODB) Frontal Impact test at 63.95kmph, Mobile Deformable Barrier (MDB) Side Impact test at 50.17kmph, and Pole Side Impact test at 29.17kmph. The compact SUV also gets Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX, and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) as a part of the safety package.
The Kia Syros gets two engine options, viz. 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel, paired with six-speed MT, six-speed AT, and seven-speed DCT gearboxes. These motors are rated to churn out 118 bhp and 172Nm (petrol), and 114bhp and 250Nm (diesel). There are six variants on offer, with the base model commanding an ex-showroom tag of Rs. 10.45 lakh.
