The new Kia Seltos has been launched in India, with a starting price of Rs. 12.09 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 12.59 lakh for the diesel trim (all prices ex-showroom). The range is available across multiple powertrains, colour schemes, and variants, and tops out at Rs. 20 lakh. What you have been seeing in our photos and videos, are the top-spec variants, and here is a showcase of what you get in the base HTE variant.

Exterior Highlights
Up front, the design of the headlamps and the bumper is different as compared to the higher-spec variants, while on the side, you get R16 black wheel caps and body-coloured mirrors. The rear retains the signature Kia connected tail lamps.

Interior and Features
The dual-screen layout is standard, right from the base model, along with a grey and silver paint scheme for the dashboard, along with a dual-tone colour scheme for the upholstery in both rows. Features include dual USB-C chargers for both rows, power mirrors, power windows, and keyless entry. The HT E (O) variant over the HTE variants gets split folding rear seats and seat back pockets.

Powertrain Options
This base variant can be had with either 1.5-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel options. Both are only offered with a six-speed MT.
Surprising Value Proposition
This base variant offers a lot of features for the price, rivalling higher-spec sub-compact SUVs.In fact, you are missing out mainly on a diesel AT and driver assistance systems, but in return, you get a bigger car in the price range of sub-compacts.
