- Only available as an entry-level variant
- Higher versions to be replaced by Clavis variants
Hot on the heels of the Clavis’ arrival (sans pricing), Kia has discontinued a majority of the variants of the Carens MPV, leaving only the most basic Premium (O) seven-seat variant, which is priced at Rs. 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it is possible that dealers may have stock of other variants of the MPV and are likely to offer discounts. The numbers may vary from dealer to dealer, please check with your nearest dealer for any offers.
This trim can be had across all three engine options and only with a manual transmission option. Features of this variant include dual digital screens with phone mirroring, four speakers, USB-C charging ports, power windows, and steering-mounted audio controls. The cabin is a dual-tone affair with indigo blue inserts.
The Kia Carens had a massive variant list, including a top-spec X-Line variant that was only available with automatic transmission options across both petrol and diesel. When Kia said that it would sell both cars (Carens and Carens Clavis), it was understood that the pre-update Carens would move down a step in terms of variants to keep a price gap between itself and the Clavis. However, this move is expected to separate both cars in terms of pricing. We can also look at the move in the light of the commercial market variant of the Carens, which is expected to be now based on this Premium (O) trim level.
