- Available as a dealer-level fitment
- Offered in a single variant
Kia India has introduced a CNG derivative in the Carens range, with prices starting at Rs. 11.77 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered as a dealer-level fitment, it commands a premium of Rs. 77,900 over the price tag of the sole Premium (O) variant that the Carens is sold in, costing Rs. 10.99 lakh.

As per the official details, the CNG kit is a government-approved retrofitment from Lovato and comes with a third-party warranty of three years or one lakh kilometres. While technical specifications haven’t been revealed, we expect the power output of the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine to remain unchanged at 113bhp and 144Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox is the sole transmission on offer, as is a seven seat layout.

In terms of features, the Kia Carens CNG comes equipped with features like an eight-inch touchscreen unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, semi-leatherette upholstery, reverse parking camera with guidelines, 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, six airbags, five Type-C charging ports, 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, and TPMS.
