Toyota cars are not known for amazing designs that will make you turn back and have a second look at them. We did like the new Corolla Altis facelift, it was a welcome change from the way its predecessor (E140) looked. What more can Toyota add to the new Corolla? No, they won’t fiddle with the styling and make it boring, but add an hybrid model? Perhaps, yes.
An avid reader of a popular website has grabbed a few screenshots of the company’s new animated videos from Europe. The screenshots reveal marginally revised styling with a new bumper, and a chrome strip that runs between the headlights.
The instrument binnacle suggest that the car is a hybrid with a charge gauge in place of a tachometer. While, the source isn’t sure if this will be aa Europe-spec model, they claim that it could be the new Corolla Hybrid. One with a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor reportedly developed for the Chinese and Asian markets.
Before we jump into conclusions, we aren’t sure if the Corolla Hybrid will make it to India. However, we expect it to make it to the 2016 Auto Expo if the Japanese carmaker intends to sell it here.
